Sculptures from sand, snow, steel and more!

For our First Saturday Series in October, we will take a peek at some amazing sculptures as we go on a journey around the world. You’ll hear the story of how a kid from Iowa became a world renowned sand sculptor & ended up with his own show on the Travel channel.
Rusty Croft is currently featured in the Carmel Magazine and is the owner of Sand Guys.

In Rusty’s own words:

I initially came to our area for love! Love for a woman came first, then love for the central coast came next. My wife, Natalie Taggart, is my biggest inspiration. She is one of the most creative and talented people I’ve ever met, and our three girls are always engaging in some sort of creative pursuit.

All four of them dance, sing photograph, paint sculpt, and write. Creativity is not a job so much as a way of life for us. My work is also highly influenced by the flora and fauna of Carmel Valley and Carmel by the Sea. My latest series of equestrian sculptures is derived from the daily inspirations of driving by multiple horse arenas in Carmel Valley. The epic landscapes that surround us are also an endless source of inspiration.
