One Book, One Village

LET’S ALL START THE NEW YEAR CURLED UP WITH THE SAME BOOK!
THEN IN MARCH, JOIN YOUR NEIGHBORS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR SOME FIDO‑INSPIRED EVENTS.

Beginning January 10th, stop by the Library to pick up Loving Edie, by local author Meredith May! More than 60 copies of the book are available for anyone to borrow – no library card needed, but please return after reading for others to enjoy. Then, sign up for one or more of the special events that will take place in March. See details of each event below.

Dog Portrait Day

Saturday, March 23 from 10 AM – 1 PM
Carmel Valley Art Association, 8 Del Fino Place (next to Cafe Rustica)
Bring your favorite photo of your precious pooch and work with local artists to make a sketch or drawing depicting their unique character. Your portrait will hang in the Post Office or Carmel Valley Library for all in the community to enjoy and then will be returned to you after the first week in April.

Book Club Discussion

Tuesday, March 26 from 5 PM – 6.30 PM

Dog Book Storytime

Wednesday, March 27 from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Carmel Valley Library
Join the Library for our regular storytime and read stories involving your favorite canine characters.

Family Movie Night and Dog Parade

Thursday, March 28 from 4 PM – 4.30 PM (dog parade at the stage area) Movie at 5 PM
Carmel Valley Community Youth Center
Show off your dog during a 30 minute dog parade, then enjoy DC League of Super-Pets, an animated superhero comedy about Superman’s crime-fighting dog Krypto who must rescue Superman from kidnappers. Popcorn & refreshments served. Sorry no dogs in the CVCYC.

How to Soothe Your Fearful Fido

Saturday, March 30 from 10 AM -11 AM
Carmel Valley Library
Join us at the Library for a discussion about soothing your canine with a panel of experts. Including a vet from the Carmel Valley Vet Hospital, local dog trainer Barbara DeGroodt, Carie Broeker from Peace of Mind Dog Rescue and Dr Sarah Fermor, animal chiropractor and CBD pet therapy expert.
